Lost Lodge has been around for quite some time. It actually all started in the 1960’s. A few cabins were added at a time over the years up until the 1970’s. At that time, Lost Lodge was a known fishing destination. In the 1980’s the Lodge went through a series of transitions and owners. It was actually closed for a period of time. The Lost Lodge was purchased by the Duncan family in the the early 1990’s and they began to make upgrades to the cabins and the grounds for the next 7 years.

We (Mike and Dona) purchased the Resort in June of 2000. We fell in love with the ambiance of the wooded setting, the beauty of Pittman Creek as well as the allure of “working for ourselves”. Boy were we naive!

That was the beginning of almost 9 years of rehabilitation of the original 17 cabins, the purchase and renovation of two 3 bedroom cabins, repair of the Hill-o-vator and dock and just about everything else on the property! Sometimes it seems like we bought the money pit, but through all the hard work we have built a fun and unique place to stay.

Folks who have stayed with us over the years have commented on our plants and gardens. When Mike and I got tired of remodeling or other boring endeavors, we planted. We have collected some unusual tropical plants that are not native to the Kentucky area. We have some interesting plants throughout the grounds. There are now 2 greenhouses on site and we do offer some of our most popular plants for sale, just ask us if you’re interested.

We have tried to create a place where families, singles, or retirees can come to relax, boat, swim, fish, or just get away from the routine of everyday life. The cabins are all unique and have been decorated individually, so you can stay in a few different ones, then pick a favorite!

Our philosophy is to make everyone feel at home at our place (we are about as laid back as you can get) and we enjoy meeting all the new guests each year and we do appreciate all the old friends who return year after year.
